Schirmmutze da ufficiale Heer fanteria con coccarda forata HPC “Frischluft” RESERVED

Spettacolare berretto a visiera “Schirmmutze” da ufficiale di Fanteria dell’esercito tedesco (Heer) con sistema di ventilazione “HPC”. Il berretto è quello regolamentare per gli ufficiali di fanteria della Wehrmacht, quindi con piping in colorazione “waffenfarbe” bianca e soggolo a cordone argentato. Quello che lo rende speciale è la presenza del sistema “Frischluft” brevettato dalla ditta HPC. Si trattava di un sistema di fori di ventilazione posti dietro il fregio metallico che serviva a mantenere fresca la testa (una concezione simile alla più conosciuta coccarda ventilata EREL) e che talvolta comportava, come nel nostro caso, il montaggio di un fregio specifico forato lateralmente. Sul diamante interno è riportato la sigla del produttore HPC (Hermann Potthoff – Coesfeld) e la dicitura “Frischluft – DRGM”. Berretto con qualche segno d’uso all’interno ma complessivamente ancora in condizioni ottime. Raro esempio di schirmmutze Heer di produzione HPC completo della coccarda speciale.

Spectacular Schirmmütze officer’s visor cap for the Heer (German Army) Infantry, featuring the patented HPC “Frischluft” ventilation system. This is the standard regulation visor cap for Wehrmacht infantry officers, with white Waffenfarbe piping and the correct silver officer’s chin cord. What makes this example especially desirable is the presence of the patented “Frischluft” ventilation system developed by HPC. This design incorporated a series of ventilation holes concealed behind the metal cap insignia to improve airflow and keep the wearer’s head cool—a concept similar to the better-known ventilated EREL cockade. In some cases, including this cap, the system required the use of a special insignia with lateral perforations. The interior sweatshield is marked with the HPC (Hermann Potthoff, Coesfeld) manufacturer’s logo together with the inscription “Frischluft – DRGM.” The cap shows only minor signs of wear to the interior but remains in excellent overall condition. A rare example of an HPC-produced Heer Schirmmütze, complete with its distinctive ventilated insignia.
