Berretto estivo mod. 1931 MVSN Milizia Portuaria

Spettacolare berretto a visiera bianco mod. 1931 da ufficiale della Milizia Portuaria, specialità MVSN con compiti di polizia portuale. Il berretto porta il fregio ricamato di 1° tipo da ufficiale della I legione Portuaria di Genova, il gallone di grado da Centurione (corrispondente a Capitano nella milizia fascista) e i rari bottoncini specifici con il fregio del corpo. All’interno c’è il logo del fabbricante “Barbalucca” e l’etichetta con il numero di taglia “55”. Il berretto, di notevole rarità, è quello introdotto dal regolamento MVSN del 1931 e si distingue dai successivi berretti mod. 1935 per via della foggia piatta cosiddetta “aeronautica” e per via del fregio, che successivamente avrà un diverso disegno del serto di alloro. Si sottolinea la curiosità che si tratta del primissimo berretto a visiera mai adottato dalla MVSN: il berretto M31 era prescritto solo per la milizia portuaria e quella stradale, le altre specialità in quest’epoca avevano ancora solo il fez o il cappello alpino.

Spectacular white visor cap Model 1931 for an officer of the Port Militia, a specialization of the MVSN tasked with port police duties. The cap bears the first-type embroidered officer’s insignia of the 1st Port Legion of Genoa, the Centurion rank braid (equivalent to Captain in the Fascist militia), and the rare original buttons specific to the corps, featuring its emblem. Inside is the maker’s mark of the manufacturer “Barbalucca” and the size label “55.” This cap, of considerable rarity, is the model introduced by the MVSN regulation of 1931. It differs from the later Model 1935 caps because of its flat, so-called “aeronautical” style shape and the design of the badge, which in later versions would feature a different laurel wreath pattern. It is also worth noting an interesting detail: this is the very first visor cap ever adopted by the MVSN. The M31 cap was prescribed only for the Port Militia and the Road Militia, while other branches at that time still used only the fez or the Alpine hat.
