Fascist GIL Comandante Federale white uniform
Extraordinary half-mannequin, composed of jacket, cap and Littorio scarf, as a senior hierarch of the G.I.L. (Gioventù Italiana del Littorio), youth organization of the fascist party established in 1937. The character, as indicated by the frieze on the cap, the shoulder pads and the cuffs, held the role of Federal Commander, the starting rank of the general officers of the GIL. The jacket, a white summer “Saharan” model, features as attributed the red enamelled metal fasces on the lapel, the GIL hierarch’s eagle on the left arm, the relevant shoulder pads and cuffs embroidered by a Federal Commander, 10 decorative ribbons on the chest. The owner, as indicated by the yellow-red ribbon, the Littorio scarf and the red band on the hand guards, had participated in the March on Rome in 1922. The jacket is in excellent condition overall, however the left chest button has been replaced. The white peaked cap, loaded with embroidered eagle and corresponding rank chinstrap, black band and relevant GIL buttons, is in excellent condition and bears the size “57” label inside. Lot of great charm, particularly rare and evocative.
